Worn leather boots on a mossy log in a misty Kootenay forest

Premium Boot Wax · West Kootenays, BC

Built for the Kootenays.
Born in the Bush.

Handcrafted boot wax infused with wild Lodgepole Pine resin. Deep conditioning. Heavy-duty waterproofing. No shortcuts.

The Problem

Spray-On Waterproofers Don't Cut It Here

The Selkirks and Purcells throw everything at your boots — slush, mud, road salt, and relentless damp. Most products weren't built for this.

Salt Rot

Road salt and mineral runoff eat through cheap sealants in weeks. Your leather dries out, cracks, and lets the cold in.

Cracking & Stiffness

Spray-on waterproofers sit on the surface. They don't feed the leather. By mid-January, your boots are stiff as firewood.

Damp Feet, Every Day

In the BC interior, it's not a question of if your boots get wet. It's how fast they fail when they do.

Tree to Tin

From Kootenay Forest Floor to Your Boot

Wild-Harvested Lodgepole Pine Resin

We collect resin by hand from felled Lodgepole Pine timber right here in the West Kootenays. Nothing farmed. Nothing synthetic. Just the same sticky pitch that's been sealing and protecting in these mountains for centuries.

This resin is the backbone of Summit Seal. It bonds with the beeswax and lanolin to create a waterproof barrier that flexes with the leather instead of cracking off.

Small-Batch. Hand-Poured. No Filler.

Every tin of Summit Seal is melted and poured by hand. The formula is simple because it doesn't need to be complicated:

  • Beeswax — Seals and waterproofs
  • Lanolin — Deep conditions and softens
  • Pure Neatsfoot Oil — Penetrates and preserves
  • Lodgepole Pine Resin — Bonds, flexes, and protects

No petroleum. No silicone. No cheap shortcuts.

How to Use

Three Steps. Ten Minutes.

No special tools. No heat gun. Just your hands and a rag.

01

Clean

Knock off the mud and dirt. Use a damp rag or stiff brush. Let your boots dry completely.

02

Apply

Work the wax into the leather with your fingers or a cloth. The warmth of your hands helps it absorb. Hit the seams and toe box hard.

03

Buff

Let it sit for 10 minutes. Buff off any excess with a clean rag. Done. Your boots are ready for whatever's next.

Local Proof

Tested by the People Who Live Here

We don't have a marketing team. We have neighbours who use the stuff.

"Two seasons on the same pair of Wescos. The leather's still soft. That's not normal around here."

Loggers & Fallers

Slocan Valley

"I put a coat on before every trip into the Valhallas. My feet have stayed dry through creek crossings I shouldn't have attempted."

Hikers & Backcountry

Nelson & Kaslo

"I'm on a concrete floor or in mud all day. This stuff keeps my boots from drying out and cracking by March."
